Gautam Gandhir was born on October 14, 1981 in New Delhi, Delhi, India. After attending Modern School, New Delhi, he went to Hindu College, University of Delhi to study. He is currently married to his wife Natasha Jain who is known to come from a prominent business family in the country.
To date, he holds the record of India’s highest run-scorer in Twenty20 Internationals. He is also the 9th highest scorer of India in ODI. He previously served as team captain of the ODI from late 2010 through late 2011. He is also noted as the only batsman in India to have made over 300 runs in four consecutive Test series.
In 2008, he received the Arjuna Award from the President of India. Arjuna Award is considered as the year’s second highest sporting award given. A year later, he received the ICC Test Player of the Year award.
