Rahul Dravid Net Worth

Net Worth:
$22.6 Million

Rahul Dravid is a cricket player who represents the Indian national cricket team. According to the latest estimates, his net worth stands currently at $22.6 million. Rahul has earned his money by representing India in many test matches and one-day matches. His wealth also comes from playing for different teams in IPL (Indian Premier League), and from product endorsements.

He was born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh to a Marathi family. His father worked in a jam and preservative company, and his mother was a professor of architecture at an engineering college in Bangalore. Rahul was into cricket from an early age of 12. He represented the state of Karnataka in the under 15, 17 and 19 levels. He completed his schooling from the St. Joseph’s Boys High School and graduated from the St. Joseph’s College of Commerce with a degree in commerce.

Dravid first played for India against Sri Lanka in 1996 in the “Singer Cup” in Singapore. He wasn’t very impressive in this game. But he showed his class when he represented India in a test match for the first time. It was against England in the same year. Another Indian great, Sourav Ganguly also debuted in this match. Dravid has never looked back since then. In later years, he has played as a wicket-keeper batsman and has even captained India, though for a short time. Dravid has scored 13288 test runs for India with 36 centuries, and 10889 one-day international runs at a strike rate of 71.24. Sometimes he has been criticized for not scoring quickly enough as he does not have all the shots in his repertoire. However, he has been also referred to as “The Wall” because of his solid defense techniques against both fast and spin bowling.

Dravid has won many awards. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan and the Padma Shri by the Government of India. The International Cricket Council (ICC) awarded him the Player of the year and The Test Player of the year awards too. On 4th March 2012 he announced his retirement from international cricket. But Rahul continues to play the IPL
